How Soon Until It's Over and I Lose Myself?

I have spent a big portion of my academic career trying to work on a purely rational basis, through thorough analysis, research, and the knowledge and understanding of the target audience. This entire project has given me the freedom to shift that slightly. Although the majority of the works featured on this website have a conceptual background and are done (again) through the thorough analysis of each subject, this example is purely led by emotions, almost to the degree, it might be considered an artistic statement, rather than conceptual experimentation.

All three of these compositions were created during a 3 a.m. episode of anxiety and depression, in a completely spontaneous manner. While listening to the music of the Smiths and Radiohead, I have created three separate artworks for three separate songs, using ink, a ballpoint pen, and tape. All three feature the lyrics to their respective songs, although the lyrics are highly unreadable (except on the "I Know It's Over" artwork) to depict the atmosphere and the emotion of the songs. "I Know It's Over" remains a handwritten, fully readable text because of my conviction the lyrics already say enough, without being distorted or manipulated in any way. In addition, the artwork for "Karma Police" was later used as a vinyl cover, as a part of my daily vinyl artwork project.
