The Richter Typeface

2017

Typeface design

About the project

"The Richter typeface" is a display typeface inspired by the work of the 20th-century modernist architect and artist from Croatia, Vjenceslav Richter

Inspired by the work of V. Richter

Led by the trends and norms set by the Bauhaus school of design, Vjenceslav Richter believed in the rule of "form follows function" above all. His architecture appears light and highly symmetrical, mathematically perfect.

Inspired by that, "The Richter typeface" follows the idea of lightness and symmetry by combining the thicker, single line with thinner, triple ones, all designed and arranged according to a square 1x1 grid.
